Connection

This piece represents connection in two ways.

The different areas of the piece are connected by sewn circles which are intersecting. Just as all of life is connected.

Also, each layer of this piece was either intended to be another artwork or it was the "garbage" left from a finished piece which had potential for....something, so I kept it.

The bottom layer is an art board that I painted years ago. It was cool but I couldn't figure out what to do with it.

The next layer was a piece of parchment paper on which I painted something else, but the paint that landed on the parchment was interesting. So I kept it.

The top layer... well here's how it came about. I painted on the sticky side of a fusible adhesive called Wonder Under and let it dry. Then I ironed the painted adhesive to a piece of fabric.  When I pulled off the attached paper, some of the painted surface came off with it... not all, but a bit. I saved that too and it is the top layer.
