The world is full of things to love.  Most days, special things stand out and I like to mention them and smile.

Today I'm especially happy about:

- The return of hummingbirds!  In our part of Colorado, we have broad-tailed hummingbirds.  The males have gorgeous red gorgets that flare in the sun.  In mid July, the tiny but fierce rufous hummingbirds arrive.  They specialize in territoriality and chase all comers away from the feeders, copper gorgets aflame.  Tiny bullies.  Right now though, the broad-tails are whistling and flying and chasing and eating. Delightful.  The one in the picture is a female.  No gorget.

- "The Colourful Home", by Vinny Lee.  Decorating books give me great ideas for art, and for my home.  I pick up piles of them at the library when I'm in the mood.  All I really want is to look at the pictures and  I love the pictures in this book.  Give me colors!  And contrasts! And combinations !

- Madeleintosh light merino yarn.  Actually all Madeleintosh yarns, but I have the light merino in my possession right now.  I knit, especially lace.  And this yard is so yummy to look at and to feel that just thinking about it makes me want to knit. 

- OK, one more bird.  Western tanagers visited us for several days.  YES!
