In my search through past work, I found this piece. The panel is coated unevenly with light modeling paste, then painted with inks. I painted it for the love of color and not to represent anything.

I painted it vertically and in this position, I came up with names like Combustion, Conflagration, Fire. Hmmmmmm. If held sideways

it looks like an island at sunset, maybe with birds taking off.

This confounded decisions when it came to framing. So the framer put hangers both ways!!! I like it either way. But you can see how it might be difficult to name it since it depends on which way it is hung.
