TED-Inspiration and Education All in One
Each morning, I try to listen to a TED talk while I have breakfast. They last about as long as it takes me to down a bowl of cereal with nuts and fruit.
If you've never listened to TED talks, you are in for a treat. The speakers are from all walks of life, all professions, all nations. The topics are myriad and you can search for special topics of your interests if you like. I tend to listen to talks both in my interest areas and in areas I know nothing about. These talks are fabulous! Some are hilarious. Most are incredibly entertaining. I learn from all of them.
Today I listened to a wonderful talk by Sarah Kay, a spoken word poet, called "How many lives can you live". She tells stories and tells her poetry which is a story. This is moving and lovely and amazing.

Yesterday I listened to Cheryl Hayashi speak on "The magnificence of spider silk" and it was incredible. A single spider creates many different kinds of silk for different purposes. And some spider silk is stronger than many natural fibers. Who knew?

Thursday was a great and very funny talk called "Massive scale online collaboration" by Luis von Ahn about the way they are using those irritating twisty words we have to write into our computers to prove we are people and not machines.

I could go on. I urge you to dip in and enjoy these talks. They are short. Every one inspires me and gives me hope. I always want to listen to more.
