Variation on a Theme

I love to quilt and I love to knit. So here is a piece that combines both, although this isn't a true 3-layer quilt. Knitted "blocks" are connected with fun shaped paper clips. The piece is embellished almost entirely with other small pieces I made:

- a painted and embossed tile with a "gem" on top

- hand-dyed lace

- polymer clay buttons

- several cloth/fiber/wire beads

- a piece of mixed media "fabric" adorned with a bead

- a beaded dragonfly

- twisted wire pieces

- a yarn flower

- and 3 (not-hand-made) buttons

Because of the dimensionality, this piece is framed in a shadow box. 

It is so much fun to combine different media, different modalities, to create a piece of art!
