Here is another simple, quick and fun technique from Surface Treatment Workshop, also using alcohol inks. You need a shiny surface for this. You can use a transparency, a piece of glossy paper, or Yupo for good effect. Porous papers will simply absorb splots of ink.

You also need a straw and alcohol inks. I used Ranger's Adirondack Alcohol Inks. 

So here's what to do. 

Select your base. In the photo above, I used a transparency sitting on top of a piece of white paper so I could see the piece better. Put one or 2 

or 3 drops of alcohol ink on the page and begin to blow the ink in one or many directions. It will dry fairly quickly so you have to get to it right away. Experiment with blowing gently and with quick, harder breaths. Repeat with other colors.

I found that dropping just a bit of Ranger's alcohol blending solution first onto the section I was working on, then adding the ink, gave me a little more working time. You can also drop the blending solution on the dry piece for more texture. Play with it because so many options are available and make different effects you'll like. 

The piece below was created on Yupo which worked very well with this technique. It's fun and pretty and splashy. Give it a try!
