Whoa!

I chanced into a photographic project online that is so poignant and strong, I have to share it with you. This is worth stopping for.

Jon Crispin, photographer, is photographing the suitcases and their contents of former mental asylum inhabitants, patients in the Willard Psychiatric Center in NY. The suitcases were found in storage when the center was closed in 1995. 

These are the few possessions people brought with them, pieces of themselves from their actual life when they were living in the larger world. Each one is individual, telling part of the story of that person. The contents are fascinating, the photography beautiful.
