Past Perfect

Past Perfect

The past is chock full of good, bad, gain, loss, joy, pain.

I've been known (many times) to harken back to days past to understand myself now.

But the past is done.

It's unchangeable.

In that way, it has a sort of perfection, a completion.

I wouldn't be who I am now had I not lived that past.

I do admire your style.

love your "Past Perfect" and the explanation that goes with it. Your work is inspiring, Geri!

LOL! Thank you Sue! Sounds like there's more....

Thank you so much Jackie! I really appreciate your comments.

I like it! Lots to keep the eye traveling through it. Thanks.

Most abstract painters think, that they should deluge the painting with as many colors as possible. And as a result they
create a painting that turns out to be busy, mushy, and a big mess. Then the painting ends up looking like a bad Jackson Pollock.
As we breathe to stay alive, an abstract painting has to breathe.

I like this new piece , because you're allowing the painting to breathe, and you allow your viewers to digest one section and color at a time. It reminds me of a mixture between a Miro and Mondrian. Great piece .

Thank you Louise! I'm glad to hear your comment!

Thank you so much Terrence! I agree with you. It's like rests in music - without the spaces we don't really hear the themes and the melody and harmonies. Rests and space are key. Thank you for commenting!

Love this piece, Geri! Great colors and sense unity through the use of areas of great detail contrasting with areas of open negative space.
Loved your descriptive statement concerning the title as well. Wonderful!

Thank you so much Robert! What a lovely review!
